Bourbon Pecan Recipe
Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Ingredients
- 1 9- inch store bought pie crust
- 1 C Raw Sugar
- 1 C Maple Syrup
- ½ C Unsalted Sweet Cream Butter softened
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ C bourbon
- 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
- ¼ tsp Kosher Salt
- 1 ¼ C semi-sweet chocolate chips reserve ¼ cup for garnish
- 1 C chopped pecans
Chocolate Ganache
- 1/2 C semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 C heavy whipping cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F
- In a medium sized saucepan add the raw sugar, maple syrup and butter.
- Remove from heat and set to the side to cool.
- In a large bowl, add the egg, bourbon, vanilla and salt.
- Stir to combine.
- Once the sugar mixture has slightly cooled begin to pour it into the egg mixture
- Make sure to stir while combining the two.
- Add the chocolate chips and pecans to the mixture.
- Stir to combine.
- Pour mixture into pie shell.
- Spread the mixture evenly and fill to ½ inch from the top of the crust.
- Sprinkle the ¼ cup of remaining chocolate chips on top.
- Bake for 50 minutes
- Place the chocolate chips into a heavy safe bowl
- Using a small pot, bring the heavy whipping cream to a simmer
- Pour over the chocolate chips and allow to sit for a minute before whisking until smooth
- Allow to cool
- Scoop the gananch into the piping bag
- Cut the tip off the piping bag
- Drizzle over the pie
